Ahhh I love it here

undetailed entry title so I can talk about whatever I want!

Today was our first day of classes (I´m actually in between classes now in the school library). Our teacher´s very funny but my mind just about imploded with the grammar game we played. Oof I need some practice.

Yesterday was probably the best Sunday ever. Some of us went to Albayzin/Albaicín/Albaycin (which is like the old Arab district of Granada) to walk around the shops and see the view of Alhambra (castle) and the rest of Granada. We stopped at a tiny bar/restaurant on the way for wine and tapas. Meandered through the streets. The view on the top was incredible (we realized we had stumbled up there before when we went out Friday) and then we just got lost in between the tiny stone streets and white houses on the hill. It was so beautiful. A few of us continued up towards the top and saw some really lowlooking slums, not a happy site. No buildings, electricity, water. But it´s strange in a way because they have the most beautiful view of the city and Alhambra...it´s like they watch the bustle from the outside. The sun was setting so we headed back to town to meet up with the others at a hookah bar.

Why is everything so relaxed here? What is home lacking? I feel like you want to go somewhere, so you go there. You want to do something so you do it. There´s so much history and so many places to explore, I just can´t get enough.

The beach (Almuñecar) on Saturday was great. There was a huge floating platform in the ocean with a mini diving board and slide attached, so we had our fun. And rocks to climb! Not to mention rocks to puncture your feet (it was a rock beach.). Got tapas afterwards. O what a life.

I´m actually happy to start classes. I feel like I´ll deserve my siestas. For 2 days Sarah and I woke up at 12, showered, ate lunch, then napped for siesta. Like, really? I guess it´s nice, but I honestly get a little restless. We´re going to start running (WEIRD right) at García Lorca park nearby so we don´t turn into bags of sand. I don´t know why I made that analogy.

What else?! Not much I can think of off the bat. Oh! Duh. We went out again Saturday night and hung out at the park and on the steps of the cathedral and went to a Cuban place, then chilled on the sidewalk of a little stone side street. How Spanish are we?

I think I´m getting annoying so I´m going to go. One more thing.. today is Sarah´s birthday!!
